Challenge
The starting point.
HCG's Kenya cancer centre runs patient billing and receivables in Hospedia, its hospital ERP, and accounting in Tally. Reports were assembled by hand in Excel and PowerPoint, entries were moved from Excel into Tally, and payables and receivables needed regular reconciliation. Patient data meant every new tool had to respect data-protection rules.
Approach
How the engagement was structured.
- Scoped the programme around the team's own points of difficulty: reporting, Hospedia data, Tally entries, AP and AR.
- Trained the team to generate reports in Excel and PowerPoint with AI from sample Hospedia ERP outputs.
- Built workflows for moving data from Excel into Tally entries and for AP in Tally and AR in Hospedia.
- Covered Gamma and Napkin for presentations, and data protection and privacy for handling patient and financial data.

What changed.
- The finance team gained AI-assisted reporting directly from its hospital ERP data.
- Repetitive Excel-to-Tally work and AP/AR reconciliation moved towards automation.
