Challenge

The starting point.

Finance teams across the Bajaj Finserv group handle very different work: NBFC regulatory reporting on large loan datasets, IFRS 17 data for insurance, branch P&L and AOP for FP&A, daily limit monitoring for investments, and high-volume invoice processing. Participants from group companies including Bajaj Housing Finance, Bajaj General Insurance, Bajaj Life and Bajaj Broking shared their routine work and the problem they most wanted AI to solve before the programme.

Approach

How the engagement was structured.

  • Collected survey responses from participants across group companies and designed labs around their real problems.
  • Day 1: AI foundations and prompt engineering, Perplexity research assistants for equity research and case-law research, Excel VBA automation for file indexing, mail automation and GST reconciliation (GSTR-2B against the purchase register), Copilot agents for GL coding on the group chart of accounts and for IRDA regulatory updates, and Copilot in Excel for large invoice datasets.
  • Day 2: NotebookLM on Bajaj Finance investor presentations, big-data invoice analysis, a GL code assistant, rapid tool building with Google AI Studio and LlamaCoder, and AI risk, law and regulation.
  • Built an AI Strategy Roadmap mapping each participant's problem to a recommended solution, tools, a quick-win and an advanced implementation path, and a training focus area.
Outcome

What changed.

  • Each participant left with a written next step: a quick win to implement in one to four weeks and an advanced option for later.
  • Teams had working templates for GST reconciliation, GL coding and regulatory-update tracking.
  • Finance leaders gained one view of AI opportunities across group companies, from IFRS 17 data preparation to automated variance commentary.
